Our Programs

School L H.U.G.S. Bullying Prevention and Mentoring Program (BPMP)

RIVERA & RIVERA ACT AGAINST FORECLOSURE INC. offers a free after-school program for people in Springfield, Hampden County, and surrounding areas in Massachusetts. We provide a safe place for at-risk youth and individuals. We want them to spend after-school hours while instilling a sense of belonging and fostering a heightened level of academic achievement.

Our youth mentors serve as a role model. We get the youth aged 6 to 18 involved in social and community activities. We encourage them to make safe decisions while avoiding risky behaviors. At the same time, we boost their self-esteem, indirectly monitoring their progress at school and at home.

The work and activities we do aim to provide the necessary skills for academic success. This is all while increasing work opportunities and enhancing the perception of the youth as a positive force in the community.

We show our commitment to the youth through our School H.U.G.S. BPMP. It supports their health, wellness, productivity, leadership development, and education. During summertime, we do mentoring in collaboration with New England Farm Workers' Council (NEFWC) Summer Youth Program. We encourage students, participants, and/or individuals aged 14-24 to partake job opportunities.
